We have decided to use Adeson modified Burns pickups for "Kz Guitar Works Red Special guitars" of standard specification.
We believe firmly that the Adeson pickups are perfect pickups for "Kz Guitar Works Red Special" for an improved tonal and harmonic content. They have a very focused sound without losing the clarity. They are clean but powerful. There is sweetness in the sound.
The Original Style pickups specifications are as follows:
- Approximate: Neck/ 7.0k ohm, Middle/ 7.3k ohm, Bridge/ 7.0k ohm RW/RP
- Original aged two per pickup magnet sets
- Upgrade hookup and ground wires
- 1960s silk taped coils using original gauge magnet wire
- Thin rubber insert
- Wax saturate coils separately, re-assemble pickups and then fully wax pot complete casings
The Adeson modified Burns pickups are available as upgrade parts. We highly recommend them for all Red Special guitars. The list price is 42,000 yen.
NOTICE: You may have to do some minor dremeling in pickup cavity and pickguard.
